Working at the Edge of the Future University
The academic landscape has changed as universities are increasingly engaging in new collaborations with industries, organisations, communities and publics. This embeddedness and engagement suggests that the boundaries of what constitutes ‘research’ and academic knowledge production have become much more blurred.
This roundtable explores how academics (from PhD to Early/Mid Career to Established) understand, experience, and materialise those edges through research, teaching, engagement, and activism.
PhD candidates, Early Career Researchers, Mid-Career and established academics will explore: Chaired by:
How does our own research/teaching/practice materialise the edges of academic work?
What challenges do we face working at the edges of academia?
What do we see as our own (and collective) responsibility for producing those boundaries?
What are the edges of the future university?
